American multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) can be sent to Ukraine. In the publication 19FortyFive called the advantages of MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System), which the United States can transfer to the Ukrainian side.
It is noted that the range of MLRS is higher than that of MLRS used by the Ukrainian military. The American system can fire several missiles every second.
"The White House and the Department of Defense are still discussing whether to send any MLRS to Ukraine. This would lead to the fact that the Russian territory would be within the reach of the Ukrainian military, which could potentially lead to the opposite consequences," the newspaper writes.
According to the author of the publication, the basis of the fighting in Ukraine is the ability to hit targets at long distances. Therefore, the delivery of MLRS can "balance the situation on the ground."
On the eve of May 28, Senator from Crimea Sergey Tsekov said that Moscow would give an adequate response to the United States if the MLRS delivered to Ukraine would be used to strike Russian cities.
Earlier in May, sources of The New York Times reported that the United States approved the sending of American MLRS to Ukraine. It is believed that we are talking about the supply of M31 GMLRS systems with a range of up to 500 kilometers.
