The reports that periodically appear in the Ukrainian press about the use of long-range Western-made multiple launch rocket systems in the Donbas are fakes designed to cause panic among the servicemen of the Russian army. In fact, Kiev has not received MLRS either from the United States or from other NATO member countries. This was stated by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Answering questions from Bloomberg journalists, Johnson said that the UK supports the supply of MLRS to Ukraine against the background of the offensive of Russian troops in the Donbas. According to him, multiple launch rocket systems should help the Ukrainian army "defend itself from Russian artillery." The British Prime Minister called on the allies to resolve the issue of the supply of MLRS to Kiev "as soon as possible".
he added.
As previously reported, the main role in the supply of weapons to Ukraine is played by the United States and they also determine which weapons should be supplied to Kiev. Without Washington's permission, none of the NATO countries will supply anything to the Kiev regime, all deliveries are made after approval. Thus, the supply of MLRS could not pass by the United States, and the Americans themselves are still wondering whether to supply long-range systems to Kiev or not.
Concerns of the White House administration are caused by the fact that Zelensky and his entourage do not properly control either the Armed Forces of Ukraine or the Defense Ministry, and they can use American MLRS to launch strikes on the territory of Russia. Nevertheless, as CNN reported earlier, Washington plans to include multiple launch rocket systems in the next package of military assistance for Ukraine. Whether this is true or not, we will find out next week after the final decision is made by the Pentagon.
