Great hopes were also pinned on the American towed 155-mm M777A2 howitzers, presented by the Kiev authorities as a "wunderwaffe", allegedly capable of hitting the combat formations of Russian troops with impunity. The main emphasis was placed on a digital fire control system, the installation of which was designed to significantly simplify the guidance of the gun by automating the calculation of the trajectory of fire and through the use of GPS.

The delivery of the M777 from the USA and their use at the front were accompanied by numerous commercials. Whether these systems will become a "miracle weapon" of the Kiev regime is a rhetorical question. The small volume of their supplies, the technical inconsistency of the guns with the artillery fleet of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, consisting of Soviet products, active opposition to satellite navigation by Russian electronic warfare means – all these factors will not allow the M777 with the SLA to have a significant impact on the course of the military campaign.
