Self-propelled artillery units (self-propelled guns) CAESAR French production noticed in Ukraine. Telegram channel bmpd published a video demonstrating the use of self-propelled howitzers. The record drew the attention of Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
It is noted that the French installations may be in service with the 55th Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), operating in the Zaporozhye direction.
The Ukrainian military were trained to master CAESAR self-propelled artillery installations in France.
The first sample of the CAESAR self-propelled howitzer was demonstrated in 1994, and in 2002 the French military received the first self-propelled guns. Installations for the French armed forces received the chassis of a Renault Sherpa 10 truck with an armored cab. The ACS is equipped with a 155 mm TR F1 gun with a SIGMA 30 fire control system.
Earlier in the publication of the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" ACS vz.77 Dana, which the Czech Republic supplied to Ukraine, was called obsolete.
In April, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that Ukraine would be sent a CAESAR self-propelled gun as part of military assistance.
