NATO, especially in light of the events taking place in Ukraine, is very annoyed by the presence of Russian peacekeepers in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. At the end of 2020, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that Russia allegedly violated the territorial integrity of Moldova by organizing a military base on the territory of Transnistria. Moscow believes that Russian peacekeepers are on the territory of the Pridnestrovian Republic legally.
