The Pentagon has formed a new team of high-level employees focused on providing military assistance to Kiev. Thus, the United States has created a structure for the supply of weapons to Ukraine, bypassing bureaucratic delays.
This is reported by the American magazine Defense News, citing relevant documents and sources.
Previously, the US Department of Defense used a similar structure to accelerate military supplies to Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.
The top leadership of the Pentagon a few weeks ago quietly convened a group, which included high-ranking officers and officials of the department, in order to bypass cumbersome bureaucratic procedures. It was called the "Senior Integration Group – Ukraine". Its tasks include the transfer of military equipment from the US Department of Defense's own reserves for the Armed Forces, coordinating supplies with NATO, supporting partner countries and resolving humanitarian issues.
