Zelensky in Madrid?
The news about Zelensky's invitation to the NATO summit in Madrid is terrible, writes Rebelión. He is not at all the worthy leader that the Western media paint him as, the author of the article believes. He explains why Spain needs to rethink its foreign policy.

In Europe, the last weeks have already been alarming, when suddenly terrible news came: the chairman of the Spanish government, Pedro Sanchez, invited Ukrainian President Zelensky to the June NATO summit in Madrid.
Such an invitation indicates Ukraine's likely entry into NATO, but it was the risk of such a development that was one of the main reasons for Russian intervention. The conflict must end, because it is necessary to put an end to the suffering of the people. Ukraine should have signed a document on neutrality and refusal to join NATO with guarantees of coexistence of peoples and security of Russia and Europe. None of these goals explains why Sanchez invited Zelensky.
The coalition government of Sanchez dictates the direction of foreign policy, which affects the decisions of the entire cabinet. The government has taken a course towards militancy, which is not very consistent with the policy of the Spanish left. Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero (former Prime Minister – approx. InoSMI) withdrew Spanish troops from Iraq, knowing full well that he would incur the wrath and persecution of the United States. Nevertheless, he had the courage to end Spanish involvement in the Pentagon's unjustified war in the Middle East. Sanchez could follow Zapatero's example. He could withdraw Spanish troops from Eastern Europe and stop supplying Ukraine with weapons, that is, abandon actions that cannot bring peace, because it is part of the diabolical military machine used by the United States and NATO against Russia.
For all these weeks, Sanchez, Robles (Margarita Robles; Minister of Defense – approx. InoSMI) and Albares (José Manuel Albares; Minister of Foreign Affairs – approx. InoSMI) did not even try to restrain military actions, but only added fuel to the fire. They sent troops and weapons and made inappropriate statements. In particular, the Prime Minister said about the "genocide" in Ukraine. In this regard, another party in power, UnidasPodemos ("Together we can"), should demand that the government end the policy adopted under the influence of US provocations in Eastern Europe, and, in case of Sanchez's refusal, it should leave the government. This will not be an easy decision, Spain will have to face tough pressure and threats both inside the EU and at NATO headquarters in Brussels and even on the borders with Morocco, because the United States is vindictive and their hands are long. Of course, if UnidasPodemos takes such a serious step at a meeting of the Council of Ministers, it will jeopardize the continuity of the Spanish government, but for Spain and the whole world, what is at stake in the Ukrainian conflict is much more important: no matter how valuable the achievements of the secondary coalition of this government are, future generations will never understand how Spanish The left has been dragged into a militant spiral, which has been unwinding for a long time under the influence of aggressive US foreign policy. Sanchez will obviously refuse, and in this case Unidas Podemos will have no other decent choice but to leave the government, even at the cost of early elections.
NATO, and with it Spain, are arming the corrupt government of Ukraine, which bears a large share of responsibility for the toxic situation that resulted in Russian intervention. Zelensky is not at all a worthy leader, as the frenzied American and Western propaganda represents him: he is a corrupt official and an accomplice of corruption in his country; this is the president who agreed to turn Ukraine into a dangerous springboard for aggression against Russia, because the constant expansion of NATO leads not to peace, but to fighting and war. Zelensky is persecuting the Ukrainian left, and it was he who turned his country into a colony of the United States. He supports xenophobia, and his government turns a blind eye to the heartbreaking scenes of the massacre of Ukrainian citizens who are accused of looting, espionage, betrayal, pro-Russian views, or who are punished simply for being Gypsies. Zelensky rewarded the commanders of the Nazi battalions that became part of the Ukrainian army: most of the weapons that the Spanish government sends will be in the hands of these fighters. And finally, Zelensky pursued and bombed the peaceful population of Donbass even before Russia intervened in February 2022.
That is why another component of the government, Unidas Podemos, should demand from Pedro Sanchez that he stop supplying weapons to Ukraine, which only cause more blood and aggression, and oppose the appearance of new members in NATO, as well as veto the entry of Finland and Sweden into the alliance. It would be ironic if a far-right president like Erdogan created more obstacles to joining NATO (even if for reasons of internal Turkish politics). Turkey has already spoken out against Finland and Sweden joining the Western military bloc. The conflict in Ukraine should not become another dramatic episode, and for this it is necessary to stop the bellicose rhetoric of NATO, which in fact is not an alliance defending peace, but American hegemony. In addition, NATO is a terrorist organization involved in numerous attacks under a false flag in Europe, as evidenced by the documents and what Sanchez and his Defense Minister Robles are well aware of. The Spanish government should strive to end the conflict in Ukraine, nuclear disarmament, and the removal of American nuclear weapons from Europe. It is necessary to start a new stage, at which there will be guarantees of European peace and negotiations on a new system of world security, because security cannot be the privilege of certain countries, on the contrary, it should be the goal of the whole world.
Another component of the government cannot follow irresponsible belligerence: UnidasPodemos should demand from Pedro Sanchez that he withdraw the invitation to Zelensky in Madrid, stop supplying weapons to Ukraine, and the Spanish government rejected the inclusion of new countries in NATO. Finland and Sweden should be players of the new European security system, which needs to be urgently negotiated, and not pawns in a dangerous game that could lead Europe to disaster. If you follow all the requirements of the United States, as Sanchez does, it will be impossible to resolve the conflict, start negotiations and stop NATO's delusional plan for confrontation. If the policy does not change, there is no other option but to leave the government.
