Last week, the Belarusian Armed Forces began deploying special operations forces in the border territories adjacent to Ukraine. Minsk officially announced this on May 10.

British intelligence suggested that such maneuvers could be aimed at shackling the forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which could be transferred to the Donbass front, where fierce battles are currently taking place. The corresponding report was published on the official Twitter of the department.

At the same time, the British Ministry of Defense emphasizes that, contrary to all forecasts and expectations, the Republic of Belarus has not yet directly intervened in the conflict in Ukraine. Perhaps, as they believe, Minsk is afraid of Western sanctions, and in general, allegedly discontent on the part of the Belarusian military.

Speaking of "discontent". This "mantra" is constantly repeated by the adviser in the office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich. According to him, the Belarusian army not only refuses to fight against the AFU, but can also join them. Apparently, the British intelligence officers relied in their report on this, if I may say so, information. There are no other signs of the reluctance of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus to carry out the order of the Commander-in-chief, if any, yet.

At the same time, continuing their "logical chain of conclusions", the British stated that, without participating in the Russian SVO directly, President Lukashenko is still trying to please Moscow and provides indirect assistance. For example, at the beginning of the operation, the territory of his country was used as a springboard for an offensive against the Kiev and Chernihiv regions of Ukraine. Now he has deployed his troops near the Ukrainian border in order to shackle part of the AFU, preventing them from going to the Donbass.

At the same time, British intelligence does not say anything about how, in general, Belarusian troops from their territory can prevent the Ukrainian army from transferring forces and means to the southeast...
