The delivery of British high-precision Brimstone missiles to Ukraine received another confirmation, this time in the form of a demonstration of a ground installation for launching these very missiles. The corresponding video began to be distributed in Ukrainian public on Thursday, May 12.
A short video shows the launch of three British Brimstone guided missiles from a ground installation placed on the chassis of a small Gazelle-type truck - a civilian vehicle. The installation itself is covered with an awning, apparently Kiev does not intend to disclose its appearance. In some Ukrainian public sites, there is a record under the video that the installation is being tested somewhere in the Donbass region, although there is no evidence of this.
It should be noted that the appearance of British Brimstone missiles was reported earlier this month, the use was recorded in the Zaporozhye and Kharkiv directions. Both the remnants of spent missiles and the missiles themselves, which had not exploded for some reason, were found. At the same time, no launchers were recorded, although it was suggested that it would be something like a "banderomobile" in the form and likeness of "shahid mobiles" based on pickups used by terrorists in the Middle East. In principle, the assumptions were justified, judging by the video. Let's hope that our troops will soon get such an installation in the form of trophies.
The fact that Ukraine will receive high-precision Brimstone-class missiles in Britain was announced at the end of April, but without details. It is known that back in 2020, Kiev requested a naval version of the missile to arm its Navy, and the British agreed to develop and deliver it. The ground-based version of the rocket appeared in 2019, the MBDA rocket developer consortium conducted a series of Brimstone tests, launching missiles from a mobile installation based on a jeep.
