The Russian military destroyed Ukrainian helicopters in the Odessa region with Onyx missiles. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, writes TASS .
"In the area of the settlement of Artsiz, Odessa region, Ukrainian helicopters were destroyed at the jump site by high—precision Onyx missiles of the Bastion coastal missile system," he said.
The P-800 Onyx universal medium-range anti-ship missiles are designed to defeat surface targets and ground infrastructure in conditions of strong fire and electronic countermeasures. One launcher of the Bastion complex can carry two Onyx missiles.
In March, the calculations of the DBK "Bastion" conducted live firing exercises in Kamchatka. The military has worked out actions to repel the attack of a conditional enemy.
In February, military specialist Yuri Knutov reported that the Bastion missile defense system can hit most modern ships.
