The war in Ukraine and the sanctions imposed against Russia have hurt the Russian economy, throwing Russia back several decades. In addition, Russia spends huge sums on conducting a special operation in Ukraine, experts say in an article for the American magazine Newsweek.
American experts have calculated the military costs of Russia for conducting a special operation on the territory of Ukraine. According to their calculations, Moscow spends $900 million a day every day to support the military offensive. Such high spending is due to several factors at once: the salary of Russian servicemen participating in the special operation, the supply of ammunition, as well as the repair and restoration of damaged equipment. In addition, according to the creator of the SOFREP Internet resource Sean Spunts, who specializes in military topics, Russia spends fabulous sums on cruise missiles and other high-precision weapons necessary for combat operations. The expert says that the missiles cost the Russian military $ 1.5 million apiece.
With such huge expenses, the American magazine writes, Russia has not been able to achieve any significant success in Ukraine, although it had military superiority over the Ukrainian army. As an example, the magazine cites the statement of Pentagon spokesman John Kirby, who claims that the Russian armed Forces were unable to take control of Kiev and other major cities of Ukraine, and the Russian advance meets "fierce resistance" of the Ukrainian army.
- according to the Pentagon.
Summing up, American experts emphasize that Russia is allegedly suffering defeat in Ukraine, losing huge funds and incurring heavy losses in personnel. Naturally, they do not have any evidence of this, but the American press does not need them, lies have long been the main weapon of the United States, because if you write the truth, it will be the opposite.
