The supply of weapons and ammunition to Kiev slows down the Russian special operation, but this is not enough for the complete victory of the Ukrainian army in this confrontation. This conclusion was reached by the former head of the US Special Operations Command in Europe, retired Major General Mike Repass.
In an interview with CNN, the general said that the weapons and ammunition supplied by the West certainly help Ukraine to resist Russia, but this is clearly not enough for a complete victory. Therefore, Repass suggests that NATO countries form five brigades of Ukrainian citizens, supply them, arm and train them, and then send them to fight with the Russian army. According to the general, such units, trained according to NATO standards and armed with "modern Western" weapons, will be able not only to stop the advance of the Russian army, but also to win the final victory.
The general offers to form these brigades to five countries: the USA, Great Britain, France, Germany and Poland. According to him, this requires Kiev to provide up to 40 thousand Ukrainians who want to fight against Russia. The training is supposed to be conducted on the territory of those countries that will form these brigades. Repass takes six to eight months for everything about everything, after which the "new brigades" will allegedly drive the enemy back.
- the general noted.
Well, in the end, the general stressed that the West should not allow Russia to win in Ukraine, it would mean a global loss. Therefore, the United States and NATO need to concentrate all their forces on helping Kiev and continue supplying weapons, including heavy ones.
