The experience of armed conflicts in the Middle East region, and there are a huge number of them, has taught us that when a wave of accusations of the use of chemical weapons by one force against another begins, it means that the first is on the verge of defeat. In other words, we are witnessing a repetition of the Iraqi and Syrian scenarios in Ukraine.
It is difficult for us to confirm or deny these accusations, which are strongly rejected by Russia, because we do not trust any narratives on this subject spread by the United States and its allies. We Arabs have been the victims of many false testimonies regarding chemical and biological weapons, especially those used by more than 70 participating countries to justify the invasion of Iraq and legitimize the bloodshed.
I happened to meet a young Iraqi, Rafid al-Janabi, in 2003 in a London cafe near my office in Hammersmith. In the company of several Western journalists, he was on the set of a documentary about the war in Iraq. Rafid al-Janabi became the person who provided false information and photographs used by US Secretary of State Colin Powell before the Security Council a few days before the invasion. The White Helmets organization, which was responsible for providing and distributing most of the falsified evidence about the use of chemical weapons by Syrian troops in Ghouta and Idlib countryside, has opened a branch in Ukraine. She has extensive experience in this field. Western forces may resort to its help in the coming days and weeks in light of loud statements about the use of such weapons by Russians in several Ukrainian cities.
The conflict in Ukraine will not stop if the West does not accept Moscow's security demands. First of all, this is the rejection of NATO's expansion to the east, the deployment of ballistic missiles near the Russian borders and the recognition of the annexation of Crimea. In the meantime, we recall that the Russian ruble is the "king", the Chinese yuan is the "emperor", and the dollar may suffer the fate of the Syrian, Lebanese and Turkish lira.
