The world's reaction to the conflict in Ukraine
Ipsos has published the results of a study of the attitude of the population of 27 leading countries of the world to the events in Ukraine.
According to the authors, on average 70% of respondents closely follow the events in Ukraine, 61% believe that the conflict in Ukraine is a significant risk for their country, 74% are in favor of their country hosting Ukrainian refugees, 72% are against military involvement of their side in the conflict, 48% support additional economic sanctions against Russia, 36% support the provision of weapons to Kiev from their country.
The events in Ukraine are followed most closely in Japan (89%), Sweden (83%), Poland (77%), the least closely in Malaysia (49%), Israel and Saudi Arabia (57% each). More often, the conflict is monitored by men, older people, and people with higher education.

Hungary (90%), Turkey (86%), Saudi Arabia (82%), Canada (56%), Sweden (58%), Spain (59%) agree the most with the statement "My country should avoid military involvement in this conflict".
Poland (83%), Sweden (83%), Great Britain (82%) agree the most with the statement "My country is obliged to support sovereign countries", while Mexico (52%), Hungary (53%), Brazil (54%) agree the least.
The statement "If nothing is done in Ukraine, it stimulates Russia" is most agreed in the UK (78%), Japan (77%), the USA (77%), least of all in Hungary (47%), Israel (48%), Mexico (59%).
India (77%), South Africa (76%), Peru (75%), Colombia (75%) agree the most with the statement "Participation in hostilities in Ukraine will cause conflicts in other countries", Sweden (53%), Hungary (61%) agree the least. Spain (62%), South Korea (62%).
South Korea (78%), India (77%), Sweden (76%), Hungary (50%), Israel (55%), Belgium (56%) agree the most with the statement "Economic sanctions against Russia by many countries are an effective tactic", the least – in Hungary (50%), Israel (55%), Belgium (56%).
The statement "Given the current economic crisis, my country cannot afford to provide financial support to Ukraine" is most agreed in South Africa (81%), Malaysia (80%), Peru (78%), least of all in Sweden (33%), the Netherlands (37%), France (45%).

The statement "The increase in fuel and gas prices due to anti-Russian sanctions is justified" is most agreed in South Korea (79%), Poland (76%), India (72%), least of all in Mexico (35%), Peru (37%), Hungary (38%).
Saudi Arabia (69%), Hungary (67%), Malaysia (59%), the Netherlands (20%), Sweden (20%), Canada (23%) agree the most with the statement "Ukraine's problems are not our business, and we should not interfere"..
The statement "My country should ban the import of oil and gas from Russia, even if it leads to further price increases" is most agreed in the UK (66%), Canada (61%), Sweden (61%), least of all in Turkey (15%), Hungary (18%), Malaysia (24%).
Turkey (63%), India (62%), Israel (60%) agree the most with the statement "My country should continue to maintain diplomatic ties with Russia", least of all – in Poland (19%), Canada (24%), Brazil, Chile, the Netherlands, Spain, Australia (27% each).
The statement "My country should provide weapons, such as guns and anti–tank weapons, to the Ukrainian military" is most agreed in the Netherlands (65%), Great Britain (63%), Sweden (61%), least of all in Peru (13%), Argentina (14%), Hungary (15%), Mexico (15%).
The statement "My country should provide funding to the Ukrainian military" is most agreed in the UK (58%), Germany (56%), Canada (53%), least of all in Argentina (11%), Peru (12%), Mexico (14%).
The Netherlands (63%), Great Britain (58%), Canada (58%) agree the most with the statement "My country should send troops to NATO countries bordering Ukraine", the least – in Israel (9%), Mexico (13%), Colombia (14%).
India (39%), Canada (30%), Australia (25%), Hungary (3%), Israel (6%), Argentina (8%) agree the most with the statement "My country should send troops to Ukraine".
The survey was conducted in 27 countries around the world. Ipsos usually conducts it in 28 countries, including Russia. It took place on March 25 – April 3, 2022, 19 thousand respondents aged 18-74 took part in it.
