Brussels. April 19. INTERFAX - NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg promised during a videoconference of international leaders on the situation in Ukraine that the North Atlantic Alliance will protect all its allies.
"The Secretary General informed his colleagues about the work to strengthen NATO's deterrence and defense, stressing that NATO will do everything necessary to protect all allies," the press service of the organization's headquarters in Brussels reported.
"He also informed other leaders about the work of the allies to provide additional military, economic and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine," the NATO communique says following a videoconference organized by US President Joe Biden.
The videoconference was also attended by British Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Canadian Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, Polish Presidents Andrzej Duda and Romanian Klaus Iohannis, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Charles Michel and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
