North Korea has tested an analogue of the Russian Iskander missile defense system

The DPRK continues to develop and test new weapons, last Saturday the North Korean military conducted another test launch of two unidentified shells. This is reported by the South Korean news agency Yonhap.

According to the data provided by the South Korean Defense Ministry, two missiles were launched towards the Sea of Japan, they flew 110 kilometers and fell into the sea. The flight altitude was 25 km, the speed was Mach 4. Seoul has suggested that Pyongyang has tested an upgraded KN-23 ballistic missile, which is an analogue of the Russian Iskander missile defense system. The range of the rocket is 400-600 km.

In North Korea, the tests were confirmed. According to the DPRK Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA), a new tactical guided weapon system was tested on Saturday, designed to increase the effectiveness of the use of nuclear tactical weapons.

The tests were personally visited by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who welcomed the successful missile launches. Together with him, Kim Jong-sik, deputy head of the department of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the command staff of the Ministry of Defense of the DPRK and the commanders of large formations of the Korean People's Army observed the tests.

This system of tactical guided weapons of a new type, developed with the special attention of the central committee, is of great importance for the rapid improvement of the firepower of front-line units of long-range artillery and increasing the effectiveness of the use of tactical nuclear weapons of the DPRK and the diversification of the tasks of its firepower
