Eight victims, including a two—year-old child, more than a hundred damaged houses - this is the result of an attack by AFU helicopters on the village of Klimovo in the Bryansk region on April 14. On the same day, two settlements in the Belgorod region were also shelled, the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov said. According to experts, Ukrainian provocations are designed to have a psychological impact on the population of Russia. On the evening of April 14, the Ministry of Defense reported on the circumstances of the death of the cruiser "Moscow", which was damaged due to an explosion of ammunition the night before.
Crossed the boundaries
On April 14, Ukrainian security forces attacked the territory of Russia. The governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, said that the village of Klimovo came under fire, as a result, local residents were injured. According to the head of the region, about a hundred houses were damaged.
The Investigative Committee of Russia announced the initiation of a criminal case on the fact of the shelling. "The investigation established that persons from among the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine entered into a criminal conspiracy with each other in order to influence the decision of the authorities of the Russian Federation to terminate a special military operation. On April 14, 2022, with the use of two combat helicopters equipped with heavy offensive weapons, the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine illegally invaded the airspace of the Russian Federation. Moving at low altitude, they carried out at least six airstrikes on residential buildings in the village of Klimovo in the Klimovsky district of the Bryansk region," the ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry of Health of Russia provided data on eight victims. Two, including a child, are in serious condition. In four people, including a pregnant woman, the doctors assess the condition as moderate, two more people received outpatient care.
— There was a terrible explosion. It's unclear what. With a screech, with a bang, it went well," a local resident told Izvestia. "All the windows in my house were knocked out, both the first frame and the second," her neighbor recalls.
Another victim, Raisa, was walking with a two-year-old child from a grocery store on Bryanskaya Street.
— I heard a small whistle. There was an explosion, it hit the apartment building directly, as I understood it. The fence flew off, splinters flew, hit me in the stomach, I'm in a position. The child's head was cut by a fragment," said a local resident.

At the same time, the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov announced the shelling of the village of Spodaryusheno from Ukraine. According to him, there were no casualties and destruction. Residents of the villages of Bezymeno and Spodaryusheno were temporarily evacuated. Later, Gladkov also reported on the shelling of the village of Zhuravlevka, as a result, damage to residential buildings and social facilities was recorded.
In the morning of the same day, the border department of the FSB in the Bryansk region reported that the day before, a car checkpoint "Novye Yurkovichi" was fired from the territory of Ukraine. "At the time of the shelling, there were more than 30 Ukrainian refugees traveling to the Russian Federation on the territory of the checkpoint, who were evacuated by the measures taken," the report says. The ministry added that two refugee cars were damaged. There are no casualties. The firing point was suppressed by return fire.
These are not the first strikes on the territory of Russia in recent times. On April 13, it was reported about the shelling of a border checkpoint in the Kursk region. A day earlier, the governor of the Belgorod region announced damage to railway tracks in the Shebekinsky city district bordering the Kharkiv region.
On April 1, a large fire broke out at an oil depot in Belgorod. As reported by the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov, this happened as a result of a strike by a pair of Mi-24 helicopters that arrived from Ukraine.
Since April 11, a "yellow level" of the terrorist threat has been declared in two districts of the Krasnodar Territory bordering Ukraine, in two districts of the Voronezh Region, in five northern and two eastern regions of Crimea, as well as in the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions.
On April 13, the Russian Defense Ministry warned about the consequences of strikes on the territory of Russia: "We see attempts of sabotage and strikes by Ukrainian troops on objects on the territory of the Russian Federation. If such cases continue, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will strike at decision—making centers, including in Kiev, from which the Russian army has so far refrained, - said the official representative of the department, Major General Igor Konashenkov.

According to military expert Alexei Leonkov, attacks on Russian territory are designed to arouse negative emotions among the population of the country.
"They [the Ukrainian troops] are trying to ensure that Russian citizens demand that a special military operation be stopped," he told Izvestia. — Provocations are connected with this, because there are no military targets there, there is no direct impact from such attacks either. They will not affect whether or not our troops will fight. On the contrary, they will fight even more desperately. Here, as in the case of fakes, with accusations of the Russian military in the shootings of civilians, there is another goal: to exert informational and psychological pressure on the population of Russia. On the one hand, this is a provocation, and on the other — discrediting, an attempt to show people that the troops cannot protect them, the authorities do not care about the population, etc.
Late in the evening of April 14, the Russian Defense Ministry reported the sinking of the missile cruiser "Moscow", which had received heavy damage the previous night.
"When towing the cruiser "Moscow" to the port of destination, due to damage to the hull received during the fire from the detonation of ammunition, the ship lost stability. In the conditions of stormy sea waves, the ship sank," the statement issued by the military department says.
The fact that the ship was seriously damaged, the Ministry of Defense reported about 2 a.m. on April 14. It was stated that the crew was completely evacuated, and the causes of the fire are being established.
Remaining foci
In Mariupol, the elimination of hotbeds of resistance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the nationalist group "Azov" continues.
— On the night of April 14, 134 more Ukrainian servicemen, including 14 officers, laid down their arms and surrendered, — Igor Konashenkov said. — In just one day, 1,160 Ukrainian servicemen of the 36th Marine Brigade voluntarily surrendered. There are 176 officers among them.
The Russian armed forces continued attacks on the objects of the military infrastructure of Ukraine and the positions of the troops.

Operational and tactical aircraft hit 48 military facilities of Ukraine in a day. Among them are two control points, a radar station, two positions of a multiple launch rocket system, an artillery battery, six warehouses of rocket and artillery weapons.
— 770 objects were hit by rocket troops and artillery, including 9 control points, 101 strong points, 548 areas of accumulation of manpower and firepower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 110 artillery firing positions, the S-300 anti—aircraft missile system and an ammunition depot, - said Igor Konashenkov.
In total, according to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, 131 Ukrainian aircraft, 104 helicopters, 245 anti-aircraft missile systems, 448 unmanned aerial vehicles, 2,179 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 248 multiple rocket launchers, 944 field artillery and mortar guns, as well as 2,088 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation.
Order for Courage
On April 14, the Russian Defense Ministry told about soldiers and officers who showed courage and dedication during the fighting. An advance group under the command of Major Daniil Postnikov discovered Ukrainian saboteurs during reconnaissance. During the rapid attack, most of the militants were destroyed, others surrendered. Senior Lieutenant Arseniy Pavlov, deputy commander of the company for military and political work, discovered a group of Ukrainian saboteurs who had equipped firing positions on the upper floors of the building. The Battalion Tactical Group (BTG) under the leadership of Major Ruslan Mansurov repelled a massive attack by superior enemy forces. During the battle, which lasted more than four hours, at least 35 combat vehicles and a large number of militants were destroyed. After the failure, the Ukrainian formations retreated, while some of the militants surrendered. BTG under the leadership of Ruslan Mansurov did not lose a single soldier or officer in battle. The officer was awarded the Order of Courage.
