Russia will sign a document with Kyrgyzstan on the unification of air defense systems
SHYMKENT (Kazakhstan), Apr 12 – RIA Novosti. Russia, following the agreements on the unification of air defense with other CIS countries, will sign such a document with Kyrgyzstan – the project is undergoing internal coordination. This was announced on Tuesday by the deputy chairman of the Coordinating Committee on Air Defense under the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS countries, Colonel-General Yuri Grekhov.
"Work continues on the practical implementation of agreements between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Kazakhstan. The draft Agreement on the creation of a joint regional air defense system of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic has been finalized and sent for internal approval," Grekhov said. According to him, in order to implement the air defense agreement with Tajikistan, the list of objects allocated to the united air defense is being coordinated in the Air Defense Department of the Central Military District.
The Russian Federation and Tajikistan ratified the relevant agreement last December. Taking into account the disunity of the territories of the two countries, the parties to the agreement will allocate a separate collective security area within the airspace of Tajikistan as part of the region.
