Of the 152 aircraft that were in the Armed Forces of Ukraine before the start of the operation, 123 were destroyed, 77 out of 149 helicopters, 152 out of 180 long- and medium-range air defense systems. The naval forces of the country ceased to exist. All formations of ground and amphibious assault troops suffered significant losses."
"We are monitoring the statements of the leaders of individual NATO countries about their intention to supply aircraft and air defense systems to Ukraine," the minister said. - If they are implemented, we will respond adequately. We consider the position of the West, which supplies lethal weapons to Ukraine, irresponsible. Its uncontrolled distribution to the population and mercenaries only aggravates the situation and in the future may pose a threat to the Europeans themselves."
Further, Sergei Shoigu spoke about the consequences of the thoughtless use of certain weapons by the Ukrainian army manifested in various regions. Thus, a real threat to civilian shipping has been created in the Black Sea. The Turkish military has already neutralized two sea mines off the coast of Romania and the Bosphorus Strait.
Targeted actions to track and destroy foreign mercenaries are continuing. As a result of strikes with precision weapons on mercenary training centers, as well as combat losses, a decrease in their number on the territory of Ukraine is recorded. Over the past two weeks, more than five hundred mercenaries have left the country and about six hundred more have been destroyed.
Then the head of the defense department noted that Russian servicemen during a special military operation show high professionalism, courage and dedication. By Presidential Decree, the name "Guards" was assigned to the 126th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade of the Southern Military District and the 155th separate Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet.
Humanitarian aid is being actively provided to the population of the LPR and DPR, as well as Ukraine. 684 humanitarian actions have already been carried out. 6079 tons of cargo were delivered to 210 settlements.
"The Russian Armed Forces will continue a special military operation until the set goals are achieved," Sergei Shoigu said. - I emphasize that the planned combat training does not stop in the troops. I demand that commanders at all levels ensure strict and accurate implementation of the planned operational and combat training activities."
Then the Minister focused on the issues of the spring recruitment campaign, which starts on April 1.
In accordance with the Presidential Decree, 134 and a half thousand people will be sent to the Armed Forces and other structures where military service is provided. This is less than it was called for in the spring of 2021. The first dispatches of recruits to the place of service are instructed to begin in the third decade of May.
"Despite the decrease in the incidence of coronavirus, I ask you to continue the complex of anti-epidemic measures for conscripted servicemen," the minister said. - Most military personnel will undergo professional training in training centers for three to five months. I emphasize that conscripts will not be sent to any hot spots. All servicemen of the spring draft of last year will be discharged into the reserve after the expiration of their service and sent to their places of residence."
Further, two thematic issues were raised at the meeting. The first concerned the creation by Vega Concern of a multifunctional aviation complex of radar patrol and guidance A-100. "This aircraft," Sergei Shoigu said, "embodies the most advanced ideas in the field of radar, provides the basis for the modernization of domestic long-range radar detection systems for decades to come."
Then the progress of the fulfillment of the tasks of the state defense order by the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center was reviewed. In 2021, the Center's enterprises repaired and serviced 112 ships and vessels of the Navy, completed equipping the Marshal Shaposhnikov frigate with modern effective strike complexes. As a result, the specified level of technical and combat readiness of the Pacific Fleet has been provided.
This year, it is necessary to modernize the nuclear submarine missile cruiser Irkutsk, repair the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Vinogradov, and restore the technical readiness of the nuclear submarine missile cruiser Tomsk at the point of permanent deployment, permanent basing.
