In the battles for the city of Maryinka, the DPR People's Militia fighters eliminated a Ukrainian sniper armed with the latest UKROP UAR-10 rifle.
When shooting, the National Guard militant used "dum-dum" ammunition prohibited by the international convention.
When examining the place of the clash, in addition to the rifle, 7.62 x 51mm caliber cartridges with expansive bullets were found.
According to the representative of the NM DNR Oleg Nikitin, these bullets "unfold" when they hit the target. "Dum-dum" bullets are designed for hunting large animals - elk or deer (weighing 150-300 kilograms), and cause severe injuries in humans even when they hit the limbs.
"These cartridges are prohibited for use," the representative of the DPR said.
