The day before it was reported that the People's Militia of the Donetsk People's Republic delivered humanitarian aid to the city of Bugas, a key settlement in the south-western direction, which recently came under the control of the DPR.
Food packages and freshly baked bread were brought to local residents, 250 sets of products were delivered to the city in total.
During the retreat, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) destroyed a grocery store in Bugas. Ukrainians took almost all the products, leaving behind a pogrom and piles of garbage. On the outskirts of the village — abandoned equipment and ammunition. Local residents hide in basements from the blows of the Ukrainian army. They were left without heat, water and light, food is cooked on a blowtorch.
As told on the same day in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR, on the eve of the meeting of the interdepartmental operational headquarters, together with representatives of ministries and departments of the Donetsk People's Republic, a work plan for the restoration of territories was outlined. Specialists have already begun to restore infrastructure in settlements that have come under the control of the Donetsk People's Republic. Currently, the distribution of humanitarian aid in the form of food and hygiene kits has been organized. Gas and water supply systems in a number of settlements have also been inspected.
In addition, on March 6, vehicles with humanitarian aid moved from the territory of Russia to the DPR and LPR. The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported that a convoy of 33 cars and 50 rescuers left the Rostov region. About 300 tons of humanitarian aid will be delivered to residents of Donbass. The cargo includes food and basic necessities. Transportation is carried out in accordance with international legislation on the delivery of humanitarian goods, the ministry said.
Earlier, on March 4, the DPR territorial defense headquarters announced the establishment of control over 36 settlements since the beginning of the operation.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass. After that, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky accused Russia of hitting the country's military infrastructure and imposed martial law on the entire territory of the state, and also announced that Kiev had severed diplomatic relations with Moscow and recalled Ukrainian diplomats from the embassy.
Then the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov clarified that the special operation pursues two goals - demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. According to him, both of these aspects pose a threat to the Russian state and people.
The Russian Defense Ministry stressed that the army did not launch air, missile or artillery strikes on the cities of Ukraine. The civilian population of the country is not in danger. Military infrastructure is being put out of action by high-precision means of destruction.
On February 21, Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR), as well as treaties on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance with the republics. The documents were ratified the next day.
