The Russian Ministry of Defense has provided RG with new data on the facts of heroism shown by Russian servicemen in Ukraine. Heroic reports are devoted to the actions on the battlefield of a sapper-shooter, a senior technician of an airborne assault regiment and two commandos. So, Captain Ruslan Gilev Ruslan and Senior Lieutenant Yakov Petrunin headed the special forces groups. Together they ensured the safe passage of our units in the Kherson region of Ukraine. During the execution of the combat mission, a sabotage group from among the Ukrainian nationalists was found who were installing explosive devices on the bridge of the reservoir. As a result, up to 10 nationalists were destroyed, the crossing was cleared. The officers have already been presented for the award of the Order of Courage.
A day earlier, the Defense Ministry reported seven more heroic deeds of Russian officers and sergeants.

On February 28, a reconnaissance group of the Russian Armed Forces conducted reconnaissance and search operations and cleaning of buildings in the area of Gostomel airfield.
During the cleaning of the building, Ivan Matyushkin found two armed nationalists hiding in the basement. Without hesitating for a second, the Russian sapper single-handedly engaged in battle with armed opponents.
By bold and decisive actions, Private Matyushkin neutralized the opponents, after which he captured them.
The prisoners were spotters of artillery fire and air strikes on the positions of Russian units defending the airfield. In addition, the prisoners gave other important information on the organization of the security and defense system of the Ukrainian capital.
With his bold and decisive actions to capture prisoners, Ivan Matyushkin ensured the ceasefire of the nationalists at the airfield, thereby saving the lives of his comrades, and the information received from the prisoners allowed the Russian command to develop success in denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine.
