Losses of servicemen and nationalists of Ukraine since the beginning of the special operation of the Russian troops amounted to 2,870 people, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - 498, said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Igor Konashenkov.
"Among the nationalists and servicemen of the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, the losses are: more than 2,870 killed and about 3,700 wounded. Only according to confirmed data, the number of captured servicemen of the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine is 572 people," the general told reporters.
"Unfortunately, there are losses among our comrades participating in a special military operation. 498 Russian servicemen were killed in the performance of military duty. All possible assistance is provided to the families of the victims. 1,597 of our comrades were injured," Konashenkov added.
"I want to emphasize once again that neither conscripts nor cadets of educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense of Russia participate in a special operation. The information spread by many Western and individual Russian media about the allegedly "incalculable" losses of the Russian group is purposeful disinformation," the general said.
