The Russian Defense Ministry announced the transition of Kherson under the full control of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the military took full control of the regional center of Kherson, and also established control over the settlements of Tokmak and Vasilevka. Since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, 1,502 objects of the military infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been put out of action, the LPR troops have advanced 75 km, and the DPR troops - 58 km.
Civilian infrastructure, life support facilities and urban transport in Kherson, taken under control, are operating in a daily mode, said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Igor Konashenkov. He added that the residents of the city do not experience shortages of food and essential goods.
According to the representative of the Ministry of Defense, negotiations are continuing between the Russian command, the administration of the city and the region to solve the problems of maintaining the functioning of social infrastructure facilities and ensuring law and order and the safety of citizens.
The head of Kherson, Igor Kolykhaev, said earlier that the city was surrounded, and the Russian military occupied key points in it, Reuters reports. According to the mayor, Russian troops occupied the central part of the city, the railway station and the river port.
Advance of troops
According to Konashenkov, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation established control over the settlements of Tokmak and Vasilevka, where Ukrainian servicemen refused to resist.
"After they sign the receipts of refusal to participate in hostilities, the Ukrainian servicemen will return to their families," Konashenkov said.
According to the ministry, since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, 1,502 objects of the military infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been disabled. "Among them are 51 control points and communications centers of the Ukrainian armed forces, 38 S-300, Buk M-1 and Osa anti-aircraft missile systems, 51 radar stations," Konashenkov said.
47 aircraft on the ground and 11 aircraft in the air, 472 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 62 multiple rocket launchers, 206 field artillery and mortars, 336 units of special military vehicles, 46 unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed.
Konashenkov also said that the aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed 67 objects of the military infrastructure of Ukraine with a massive strike.
The grouping of the DPR troops established control over the settlements of Kalinovka, Lebedinskoye, Pionerskoye, Karl Marx, Nikolaevka and Osipenko.
"The grouping of troops of the Luhansk People's Republic with the fire support of the Russian Armed Forces, continuing successful offensive actions, established control over the settlements of Starobilsk and Svatovo," Konashenkov said.
According to him, the Russian military struck with precision weapons at the facilities of the SBU and the 72nd main center for psychological operations in Kiev, as a result of which the broadcasting equipment of the TV tower was disabled.
Blocking of Mariupol
The representative of the People's Militia of the DPR Eduard Basurin, in turn, reported on the blocking of Mariupol.
"Everything is going as planned. Mariupol is blocked. The troops will continue to move in the direction that will help us to finally stop the shelling of residential areas of settlements not only in our country, but also in our neighbors in Lugansk," he said.
According to him, the further development of the situation in Mariupol will become clear in the coming days. Negotiations are planned, during which the DPR will "convince the enemy to lay down their arms, surrender or leave the city so that the civilian population does not suffer."
