Roscosmos will pay damages to Europe for disabling the Spectrum-RG telescope
Roscosmos will bill Europe for losses due to the shutdown of one of the two telescopes of the Spektr-RG observatory, TASS reports, referring to the state corporation.
Roscosmos said that European partners resemble ostriches that hide their heads in the sand, do not want to explain the meaning of the sanctions imposed, grossly violate their obligations and break the common dream of exploring outer space.
"They have damaged the scientific program of the Spektr-RG space Observatory by disabling one of its two telescopes. The sanctions imposed by them are causing us real losses, which will definitely be assessed and put up for payment to the European side," the state corporation said.
In February, German specialists turned off the eROSITA telescope, which was working as part of Spektr-RG.
In the same month, Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin said that the state corporation, in response to EU sanctions, would suspend cooperation with Europe on Soyuz-2 rocket launches from Kuru.
On February 25, the Council of Foreign Ministers of the EU countries approved the second package of sanctions against Russia due to a special operation in the Donbass.
