Moscow. February 27. INTERFAX - State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin criticized those who disagree with Russia's special military operation, believes that Russians need to unite.
"But what have we seen in these 4 days? On the one hand, the support of the overwhelming majority, which understands what is happening and does everything possible to make the operation successful. On the other hand, there are those who begin to talk about peace," Volodin wrote in his telegram channel on Sunday evening.
The speaker of the State Duma believes that critics of the military operation should pay attention to the shelling of Donetsk and Lugansk, which has been conducted by the Ukrainian authorities since 2014.
"The question arises: where were you for the previous 8 years, when the Kiev authorities killed civilians, women, children, fired at them from guns, when the rights and freedoms of our citizens and compatriots were trampled?" - Volodin wrote.
He criticized the children of wealthy Russians who have gone abroad, who, according to him, "squander their parents' money in restaurants, clubs and resorts."
Volodin also called the position of opponents of the operation from among cultural figures unacceptable, who, as the speaker notes, "for many years did not notice what was happening in the DPR and LPR." "This is nothing but a betrayal of their people and those who participate in the peacekeeping operation, you can not call it. If you are so principled, start by refusing state grants, from positions in budgetary institutions," the chairman of the lower house of parliament wrote.
He stressed that "we are all for peace, for a peaceful settlement," but "not at the expense of the interests of the state and its citizens."
