MOSCOW, February 27/ Radio Sputnik. Europe cannot build a stable and long-term security system against Russia, but Moscow poses a threat to this security, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said at an emergency meeting of the Bundestag.
On February twenty-fourth, Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to conduct a special military operation to demilitarize Ukraine.
In his address to the Russians, the head of state justified this decision by the UN Charter, the sanction of the Federation Council and previously signed agreements with the republics of Donbass.
The Russian leader stressed that the responsibility for possible bloodshed will be on the conscience of the Ukrainian authorities. Putin also called on Ukrainian soldiers to "lay down their weapons and go home."
In turn, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that the Russian army, during the ongoing special operation, is disabling exclusively military infrastructure, does not strike Ukrainian cities.
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported France's decision to send more than a thousand troops to strengthen NATO's eastern flank.
