Moscow. February 26. INTERFAX - Russian and Turkish Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Mevlut Cavusoglu discussed the situation in Ukrainian affairs in detail during a telephone conversation, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Saturday.
"During a thorough discussion of the current situation in Ukrainian affairs and the situation in the region as a whole, Sergey Lavrov informed his Turkish counterpart in detail about the conduct by the Russian armed forces in cooperation with the formations of the People's Militia of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic of a special military operation in the Donbas in accordance with the decisions of the top leadership of Russia," the message says.
"The main goals and objectives of the comprehensive measures aimed at demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, ensuring the safety of the civilian population of this country, and protecting the legitimate interests of the Russian Federation are emphasized. The readiness of the Russian side to work closely with all constructive forces for the speedy sustainable settlement of the Ukrainian problem in the interests of peace and stability was emphasized," the Foreign Ministry informed.
