Dmitry Loskutov, General Director of Glavkosmos, also said that the production of the Soyuz launch vehicle and the Soyuz MS manned transport vehicle is continuing
MOSCOW, February 26. /tass/. Glavkosmos continues negotiations with potential space tourists, but the geopolitical situation does not contribute to the development of this type of tourism. This was announced by the General director of Glavkosmos Dmitry Loskutov on Saturday.
"The current geopolitical situation does not contribute to the intensification of interest in space tourism in general, we continue to work with potential clients, more precisely, with their representatives," Loskutov said on Komsomolskaya Pravda radio.
According to the CEO of the company, the production of the Soyuz launch vehicle and the Soyuz MS manned transport vehicle is currently underway. They will be ready by the end of 2023.
"We will continue this work, especially since our offer is very competitive both in terms of reliability and speed of delivery," he stressed.
Loskutov explained that the world is not limited to countries that have declared sanctions on Russia. "We continue to interact with the countries of Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, Latin America, even with European partners," he said.
The EU has imposed strict financial and technological sectoral restrictions against 64 key structures of the Russian Federation, including in relation to the Progress rocket and space Center. The EU has severely restricted these entities' access to the capital market and financial services, banned the provision of technical assistance to them and trade with them in military or dual-use products and technologies, as well as technologies and equipment for oil production in polar latitudes and offshore. The EU has also adopted an extensive list of high-tech products, in particular, communication systems, electronics, semiconductors, aviation and space components, prohibited for supply to Russia.
Also, US President Joe Biden said that America will block more than half of high-tech imports to Russia, which, according to him, will harm Russia's space program, among other things.
