Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the goals of the military operation in Ukraine are denazification and demilitarization.
"We need to clear Ukraine of the Nazis," he said, refusing to clarify whether the current leadership of Ukraine is Nazis.
MK notes that Peskov also did not answer the question of whether the Kremlin has plans to change the Ukrainian authorities.
As for the timing of the operation, they, according to him, "are determined by effectiveness and expediency."
"The operation has its own goals, they must be achieved," Peskov stressed, noting that the decision on the timing will be made by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
Answering the question whether there is a goal to capture Ukrainian cities that are not part of the DPR and LPR, Peskov said that he could not give information on the military component of this operation - the Ministry of Defense holds the primacy here.
