Moscow. February 24. INTERFAX - The Russian military uses high-precision means against the military infrastructure of Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"Military infrastructure, air defense facilities, military airfields, aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are being put out of action by high-precision means of destruction," the ministry said.
The statement says that the Russian Armed Forces do not carry out any missile air or artillery strikes on the cities of Ukraine. "Nothing threatens the civilian population," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
Earlier on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he had decided to conduct a special military operation in connection with the situation in Donbass.
"I have decided to conduct a special military operation. Its goal is to protect people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years. And for this we will strive for the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. As well as bringing to justice those who committed numerous bloody crimes against civilians, including citizens of the Russian Federation," Putin said in an address to the Russians.
"At the same time, our plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories. We are not going to impose anything on anyone by force," Putin said.
