Moscow. February 23. INTERFAX - Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Russians on Defender of the Fatherland Day and noted the importance of ensuring the country's defense capability.
"Dear comrades, today ensuring the defense capability of our country remains the most important state task, and the armed forces serve as a reliable guarantee of national security, peaceful and peaceful life of our citizens, stable, progressive development of Russia," the head of state said in his video message on the occasion of the holiday.
"We see how difficult the international situation is, what dangers the existing challenges pose, such as the loosening of the arms control system, or the military activity of the NATO bloc," the president said.
The Head of State noted that much has been done in recent years to modernize the armed forces, thanks to which they have become more mobile and proved that they are capable of solving the most difficult tasks.
"We will continue to develop promising weapons systems, including hypersonic and based on new physical principles, expand the use of advanced digital technologies and elements of artificial intelligence. Such complexes are really weapons of the future, which significantly increases the combat potential of our armed forces," he added.
Putin also noted the personal qualities of Russian servicemen.
"The personal qualities of Russian soldiers, such as patriotism, steadfastness, dedication, mutual assistance, have always been of great importance, at any time. The role of the commander is indispensable in their formation. Our officer corps is not only the backbone, the foundation and the backbone of the army and navy, they are people who are sincerely devoted to Russia and their military duty," the President stressed.
