The Federation Council received an appeal from President Vladimir Putin on the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation outside its territory. This was announced by the Chairman of the SF Valentina Matvienko at the plenary session on February 22.
"Dear senators, the Federation Council has received an appeal from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin on the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation outside the territory of the Russian Federation. In accordance with part 3 of Article 51 of the Regulations of the Federation Council, I additionally put on the agenda of the Federation Council the issue of considering this appeal," Matvienko said.
She added that the appeal was considered by the committees of the Federation Council on constitutional legislation and state construction, on defense and security, on international affairs, as well as at the Council of the Chamber.
