MOSCOW, Feb 22 - RIA Novosti. Former military personnel can receive a civilian pension in addition to the basic one, they are also entitled to separate social benefits, including a monthly cash payment and a monthly allowance for a conscript's child, according to the website of the Pension Fund of Russia (FIU).
"Former servicemen and law enforcement officers can receive a civil pension in addition to their basic pension through the law enforcement agency. To do this, they need to have work experience after leaving the service, accumulate minimum pension coefficients and reach retirement age," the report says.
As specified in the FIU, this year the listed parameters are 13 years and 23.4 coefficients, the age is 61.5 years for men and 56.5 years for women. If a retired military man is engaged in entrepreneurial activity and pays for himself contributions to mandatory pension insurance, he also has the right to a civil pension if these conditions are met. According to the FIU, 780 thousand military pensioners receive an old-age insurance pension assigned by the fund.
In addition to pensions, retired military personnel are entitled to separate social benefits. In particular, this is a monthly cash payment (EDV), which is set according to federal benefits. The FIU pays it to servicemen who have become disabled in the performance of their duties (as well as employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, internal Affairs bodies and firefighters), combat veterans, families of fallen servicemen, Heroes of Russia and the USSR, disabled people and participants of the Great Patriotic War and their families. EDV for these reasons receives more than a million people.
Since 2022, the fund has also begun to make a number of payments that were previously provided to families of military and law enforcement agencies by social protection agencies. Among them are a one-time payment to the pregnant wife of a conscript, a monthly allowance for the child of a conscript serving, compensation for utility payments to the families of the deceased and deceased military, an annual payment for a child's summer health vacation, and others. In total, 175 thousand people receive such support measures.
