MINSK, February 21. /tass/. Strengthening the protection of the borders of the Union State of Belarus and Russia is provided for by the ongoing verification of the reaction forces. This was stated on Monday by the deputy commander of the Air Force and Air Defense forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus Andrei Lukyanovich on the air of the STV TV channel.
"Now the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State continues in other directions. We already know that additional groups will be created along the borders, the protection of our borders will be strengthened, including in the airspace," the deputy commander said.
According to Lukyanovich, "the following stages (verification of reaction forces - approx. TASS), which will be planned by the chiefs of the General Staffs of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, we will find out a little later." The inspection will continue exactly in the volumes that will be planned by our headquarters," the representative of the Belarusian Armed Forces said.
The joint Belarusian-Russian exercises "Allied Resolve - 2022" were held on the territory of Belarus from February 10 to 20 as part of the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State.
As the chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Major General Viktor Gulevich, said on Monday, units of Russian troops will return from exercises in Belarus to permanent locations when there is an objective need for this.
