Brussels. February 21. INTERFAX - French President Emmanuel Macron proposed to Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Joe Biden to hold a summit on security issues in Europe, both sides agreed, the Elysee Palace reports.
"He (Macron - IF) proposed to hold a summit between President Biden and President Putin, and then with relevant stakeholders to discuss security and strategic stability in Europe. Presidents Biden and Putin both agreed with the idea of such a summit in principle," the message reads.
It is noted that the agenda of the summit should be prepared by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during their meeting on February 24.
