Kiev. February 19. INTERFAX-UKRAINE - Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced the arrival of a plane with weapons from Canada to the country.
"We have received military assistance in the form of rifles, machine guns with optical sights, night vision and surveillance devices, military equipment," Reznikov tweeted.
On Tuesday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that Canada had decided to supply Kiev with lethal weapons worth $6.1 million and provide 500 million in financial assistance, taking into account the aggravation of the situation around Ukraine.
"Following negotiations with Ukrainian partners and taking into account the aggravation of the situation, I approved the allocation of lethal weapons and ammunition to Ukraine in the amount of $7.8 million (Canadian, $6.1 million - IF)," the prime minister told reporters at a press conference.
