MOSCOW 19 Feb - RIA Novosti. The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Army General Valery Gerasimov, reported to the Presidents of Russia and Belarus Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko that the purpose of the planned exercises of the Strategic Deterrence Forces is to work out the actions of strategic offensive forces to inflict a guaranteed defeat to the enemy, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Saturday.
"The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov, reporting on the exercise, said that its purpose is to "work out the actions of strategic offensive forces to inflict guaranteed defeat on the enemy," the message says.
According to the Ministry of Defense, in the planned exercises at the first stage, the issue of conducting military operations with the use of weapons of increased potential danger will be worked out, and at the second stage - the authorization and massive use of strategic offensive forces of the Russian Federation in a retaliatory strike.
