This was reported to journalists on Thursday in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"The first units of the motorized rifle unit of the Southern Military District stationed in the Chechen Republic arrived at the point of permanent deployment after participating in a tactical exercise at one of the combined-arms ranges in the territory of the Republic of Crimea," the department said.
The Ministry clarified that the transportation of personnel and military equipment was carried out by rail, the length of the route exceeded 1.5 thousand km.
"As part of the planned exercises, all the tasks were completed," said platoon commander Igor Lyakhov. - From tomorrow it is planned to unload equipment and its maintenance, from Monday we will begin to engage in combat training according to the schedule of classes."
In the near future, the personnel will have to carry out technical inspection and maintenance of equipment, as well as prepare it for the implementation of planned tasks.
The Russian Armed Forces are carrying out a complex of large-scale measures of operational training of troops and forces, in which almost all military districts, fleets and airborne forces take part. The units of the Southern and Western Military Districts that completed combat training tasks within the framework of the exercises have already begun to return to their permanent locations.
