Kiev. February 17. INTERFAX-UKRAINE - NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen held a telephone conversation during which they discussed Ukraine and Russia.
"Good call with Ursula von der Leyen to discuss Russia and Ukraine. I informed her about the first day of our meeting of NATO Defense Ministers. We will continue our close cooperation between NATO and the EU and will be united for the benefit of all our citizens," Stoltenberg tweeted.
The day before, the head of the EC met with the President of the European Central Bank Christine Lagarde and discussed a package of sanctions that the EU may impose against Moscow in case the situation around Ukraine worsens.
