MOSCOW, Feb 16 - RIA Novosti. The Kremlin considers the readiness of US President Joe Biden to negotiate with Russia on security to be positive, and hopes for the beginning of the negotiation process, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.
"It is important for us that when discussing those rational grains, the rational aspects that the Americans noted, that they be discussed in direct connection with those topics that are a priority for us. We hope that this negotiation process will begin," Peskov told reporters.
According to him, there is diplomacy to look for possible points of contact and promote the rapprochement of those positions that at first glance seem diametrically opposed.
"In this case, the president (Vladimir) Putin emphasizes our desire and willingness to enter into such negotiations and, probably, it is positive that the US President (Joe Biden) He also states his readiness to start such serious negotiations," Peskov added.
The points of contact between the Russian Federation and the West on security issues will be found in the negotiations, the process will be difficult, will require flexibility and political will, Peskov added.
"No, they (the points of contact) will only have to be worked out during the negotiations. This will be the result of very complex negotiations, which will require flexibility from both sides, which will require political will and which will probably require a demonstration that these statements of commitment to diplomacy are not a dummy, but a real commitment," Peskov told reporters.
