Russia does not play out aggressive scenarios in its exercises. This was stated by the chairman of the presidium of the All-Russian organization "Officers of Russia", Hero of Russia, Major General Sergei Lipovoy.
"The exercises are almost over, their results are satisfactory," he stressed. - In principle, such joint events with Belarus have always been smooth. Foreign observers, with all their desire, will not be able to call ordinary training maneuvers "Russian aggression", since the troops are returning to their units. For us it was, on the one hand, just exercises. On the other hand, we have made it clear to the world that, firstly, Russia and Belarus maintain friendly, fraternal relations, and are ready to join forces in the event of a conflict. Secondly, that we do not act out aggressive scenarios in our exercises. Our task is to protect the borders, and that's all. We are not rehearsing any of the attacks that foreign leaders are so fond of shouting about."
The expert also recalled that we have the right to protect our borders and "we will do it so that those who have encroached forget the road to Russia at all." "As for further actions, now everything depends not on the army, but on politicians. We are working out various scenarios at exercises, "pumping the muscles" of the state so as not to be caught by surprise, but we leave hope for a calm settlement of differences between the countries. By and large, the fate of the world is more often decided in negotiations than in conflicts. Let it be so this time," Sergei Lipovoy said.
