The troops of the Eastern Military District and the Airborne forces at the exercises "Allied Resolve-2022" together with the Belarusian military are practicing repelling aggression against the Union State, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, told reporters.
"The troops of the Eastern Military District and the Airborne forces participating in this exercise ("Allied Resolve - 2022" - ed.), in cooperation with the Belarusian armed forces, are working out issues of repelling aggression against the Union State during a defensive operation," Konashenkov said.
From February 10 to 20, joint Belarusian-Russian exercises "Allied Resolve-2022" are being held, within the framework of which issues of suppressing and repelling external aggression, as well as countering terrorism and protecting the interests of the Union State will be worked out. Representatives of Russia and Belarus have repeatedly stated that the maneuvers are defensive and do not threaten anyone.
