TSAMTO, February 15. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Berlin is studying individual requests from Ukraine for arms supplies and will announce its decision upon completion of the analysis, RIA Novosti reports.
In recent weeks, Ukraine has been actively asking Berlin to start supplying weapons, while Germany refuses to supply lethal weapons, citing the fact that the government cannot legally approve the supply of lethal weapons to crisis regions.
"You know the German legislation on arms exports in relation to crisis regions, I have already noted that we have provided great assistance. I want to repeat: Germany provides the greatest financial assistance to Ukraine, and we will continue to do so," O. Scholz said at a press conference after talks with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
"As for individual opportunities, we regularly study (addressed to us) requests. When we finish the analysis, we will be able to say something about it," RIA Novosti quotes O. Scholz.
