Washington. February 15th. INTERFAX - The Pentagon hopes to provide military assistance to Ukraine through ground delivery, The Hill reports, citing an informed source.
According to him, the national security adviser to the President of the United States, Jake Sullivan, told members of the House of Representatives in a private conversation about the desire of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to use ground routes instead of air delivery to provide lethal assistance to Ukrainians.
The publication notes that Austin is likely to discuss this topic with representatives of NATO countries this week during his visit to Brussels and Eastern Europe.
According to Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby, the head of the US Department of Defense will travel to Belgium, Poland and Lithuania to meet with senior military and government leaders, and will also take part in the alliance's ministerial conference.
