Kiev. The 14th of February. INTERFAX-UKRAINE - Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky sees territorial defense as the basis for the protection of each locality and the state as a whole.
On the air of the program "Freedom of Speech" on the ICTV channel on Monday evening, answering the question of whether the state is ready for the safe evacuation of people in the event of hostilities, Monastyrsky said: "As for the evacuation. I can say that, of course, such plans exist on paper."
However, he stated: "But first of all, I would call for healthy training and joining the ranks of territorial defense. This is the right response to any threat that exists," he said.
The Minister expressed confidence that it is the defense of the defense that will become the center of unification in each locality and in the state as a whole, will make it possible to be a "holistic basis for protection"

Monastyrsky added that he had discussed with the Minister of Defense the possibility of changing the qualification requirements for joining the ranks of the Defense Ministry.
Speaking about countering the possible increase in crime due to external threats, the minister expressed the opinion that an "active police presence" would be able to prevent this.
"Everyone who should be responsible for security will work in an enhanced mode these days," the Interior Minister said, recalling the transition of the department's forces to an enhanced version of service.
