London. February 13. INTERFAX - Canada is temporarily relocating part of its military stationed in Ukraine to other parts of Europe, according to a press release released on Sunday by the Canadian Ministry of Defense.
"As a result of the difficult operational situation caused by Russia's groundless aggression against Ukraine, the Canadian Armed Forces are temporarily relocating elements of the Joint Tactical Group - Ukraine (JTF-U) to other places in Europe," the document says.
According to the statement, such a step "does not mean the end of the mission," but only allows the command to change the point of application of its efforts and guarantee the safety of Canadian servicemen.
The command also refused to provide information about how many Canadian military personnel and where exactly they are being transferred from Ukraine, as well as what actions will follow.
At the same time, the CBC TV channel reported that 260 Canadian military personnel had been transferred from Ukraine to Poland, but it was unclear whether Poland would become their final destination.
On Friday, British Defense Minister Ben Wallace said at a press conference in Moscow following talks with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu that British military instructors would leave Ukraine after completing their training mission.
"It will happen pretty soon," he added.
Then it became known that the US Defense Ministry decided to temporarily withdraw about 160 American military instructors from Ukraine due to the tense situation.
