MOSCOW, February 12/ Radio Sputnik. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
Lavrov noted that the reaction of Washington and Brussels to the proposals on security guarantees submitted by Russia "ignores the key provisions for us, first of all about the non-expansion of the alliance and the non-deployment of strike weapons systems near Russian borders."
The Russian minister also reminded the United States of the inadmissibility of actions that violate the commitments made at the highest level on the indivisibility of security in the Euro-Atlantic.
"The foreign ministers also touched upon some topical issues of bilateral relations," the statement said.
Recently, Western countries have been persistently accusing Russia of allegedly preparing an invasion of Ukraine.
Moscow rejected such statements and explained that the "stuffing" in the press loyal to Washington about "Russian aggression" serves as a reason for the tightening of NATO weapons to the borders of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that the State Department ordered a number of employees of the US Embassy to leave Ukraine.
