Washington. February 11. INTERFAX - The US administration still supports the imposition of sanctions against Russia only if the Russian Federation launches an attack on Ukraine, US National Security adviser Jake Sullivan said on Friday.
"The President believes that sanctions should be aimed at having a deterrent effect. And in order for them to work and deter, we must act like this: if Russia starts moving (to Ukraine - IF), then sanctions will be imposed," Sullivan said.
"We believe that this is the correct logic," he added.
