MOSCOW, Feb 10 - RIA Novosti. The main outlines of Russia's response to the reaction of the United States and NATO on the proposed security guarantees are already ready, Russian President Vladimir Putin will formulate them at the right time, the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov said.
"The main outlines are already ready and, in fact, the president himself said at a press conference that he informed Mr. (French President Emmanuel) Macron's main vision is ours," he told reporters on Thursday.
"Putin has also repeatedly said publicly that there are rational grains, but they are of a secondary nature. Unfortunately, the critical issues in our formulation have so far been ignored. Therefore, there is a common understanding, but when it is formulated by the state, then it will consider it necessary (to voice it - ed.)," Peskov said.
At the end of 2021, Russia published drafts of a treaty with the United States and an agreement with NATO on security guarantees. Moscow, in particular, demands from Western partners legal guarantees against further expansion of NATO to the east, from joining the bloc of Ukraine and from the creation of military bases in post-Soviet countries. The proposals also contain a clause on the non-deployment of NATO strike weapons at the borders of Russia and the withdrawal of alliance forces in Eastern Europe to the positions of 1997. Later, the United States and NATO sent written responses to Russia's proposals on security guarantees to Moscow.
